Hjortevej Strand is a child-friendly bathing beach located in the southern part of Kulhuse in Jægerspris. The beach features a sand bottom and shallow water extending far from shore, making it particularly suitable for families with young children. The water is brackish with salinity between 1 and 2 percent. The beach is 300 metres long with a green recreational area containing few trees or bushes.

Location

Southern part of Kulhuse, Jægerspris. Located at the end of Hjortevej, which connects to Gammel Kulhusvej.

Season

April to October (summer season). Winter season from October to March.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (grade 4). Monitoring station number 151 with 5 samples per bathing season. Possible contamination from wastewater during heavy rainfall, with contamination duration lasting up to 3 days depending on rainfall intensity and water currents. The surrounding area is a summer house zone.

Risks

Low risk of cyanobacteria blooms, occurring only rarely during several days of calm warm weather. Low risk of macroalgae and phytoplankton blooms, though seaweed may occasionally occur. Possible wastewater impact from heavy rainfall.
