Port-Marie beach is located on the southern shore of Grande-Île in the Chausey Islands archipelago, approximately 17 km offshore from Granville. The beach extends for about 150 meters and features sand in the upper tidal zone and rocky platforms in the lower tidal zone. It has a gentle slope and experiences strong attendance with over 1,000 visitors per day. The beach is manually maintained by the Granville municipal authorities.

Location

Chausey Islands, 17 km offshore from Granville on the southern coast of Grande-Île. Port-Marie beach access point coordinates: X = 294,580 and Y = 2,438,300 (Lambert II extended). No parking zone at the beach.

Facilities

Lifeguard post present at the island entrance plus an outpost on the beach operating 14:00–18:00. No sanitary facilities in immediate proximity to the beach. No disabled access infrastructure mentioned.

Season

15 June to 15 September. Supervised bathing operates 14:00–18:00.

Water Quality

The profile document outlines vulnerability assessment and identifies potential pollution sources including domestic wastewater, stormwater, agricultural activities, and port activities.
