Water

Brackish water body (salinity 1–2%) with sand and some stony substrate. Current direction follows wind direction.

Location

Kalvøen, near the rowing club. Located on Kalvøvej on the right side after the tennis court. Parking available on the large grass parking area after the restaurant, near the Viking game area.

Facilities

Toilets available near Valhalla. Benches along the pathway. Table and bench seating at the parking area. Swimming allowed from the rowing club's pontoon bridge. No lifeguard. No disabled access facilities.

Season

Monitoring conducted year-round. Summer season (April to October): dogs allowed on a leash. Winter season (October to March): dogs may be loose if under control.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (Class 4). Monitored by station number 1180 with 5 samples per bathing season. Possible pollution sources include wastewater discharge during heavy rainfall, with pollution duration dependent on rainfall intensity and current/wind conditions (up to 3 days after the event). Located in the catchment area of Frederikssund Municipality.

Risks

Low risk of cyanobacteria blooms, occurring in rare cases during multiple days of calm warm weather. Low risk of macroalgae blooms, though seaweed may occur. Possible wastewater impact during heavy rainfall.
