Strand ved Kgl. Opfostringshus is a bathing beach approximately 160 metres long and 40 metres wide, located at Nordre Strandvej 110. The beach has a sandy shoreline mixed with larger stones. Water quality is classified as Excellent, based on measurements from the four most recent seasons. The water is brackish with salinity levels between 1.8 and 2.3 percent.

Brackish water beach approximately 160 metres long and 40 metres wide. Water reaches 2 metres depth approximately 200–260 metres from the shore. Sandy bottom with larger stones near the shore. Dominant current direction is west to east.

Location

Nordre Strandvej 110. Parking is available but limited. Public transport access via bus 342.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Monitoring station 283 with 5 samples taken in 2024. Classification based on results from the four most recent seasons. Blue-green algae blooms occur never or rarely. Macroalgae present in some areas. Phytoplankton blooms occur never or rarely.

Risks

Risk of high waves. Reef formation evident. Risk of sewer overflow during heavy rain with potential short-term water contamination for up to 2 days after the event. Dogs on lead permitted April 1–September 30.
