Nordre Strandvej is a bathing spot approximately 120 metres long and 10 metres wide located on a rocky beach with a large jetty and seating area at its base. The water exhibits clear reef formations with a risk of high waves and reaches a depth of 2 metres approximately 200 metres from the shore. The bathing water quality is classified as Excellent based on measurements from the four most recent seasons.

Water

Brackish water with salinity of 1.8–2.3%. The seabed consists of sand with larger stones extending approximately 5 metres from the shore. Water depth reaches approximately 2 metres at 200 metres from the coast. The dominant current direction flows from west to east.

Location

Located at Nordre Strandvej 148A in the Ålsgårde area. The nearest public car park is at Ålsgårde Centre. Public transport access is available via the local train to Ålsgårde and Bus 342.

Facilities

Large jetty with seating area at the base. Lifeguard on duty during school summer holidays between 10:00–18:00, and from 22 June to 4 August (10:00–18:00). First aid equipment available during the season (10:00–18:00). Accessible wheelchair ramp and slipway into the water. Disabled toilet at the boat club. Bathing wheelchair available for loan from lifeguards. Drinking water. Public toilets. Litter bins. Waste separation facilities.

Season

Lifeguard coverage operates from 22 June to 4 August (10:00–18:00). Dogs are not permitted between 1 June and 15 September.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is Excellent, based on monitoring data from the four most recent seasons. Monitoring station number 281 conducted 10 samples in 2024. Cyanobacteria blooms occur never or rarely. Low risk for phytoplankton blooms. Small areas of seaweed are present.

Risks

During heavy rainfall, there is a risk of sewage overflow from the Riffs Rende outlet, located approximately 150 metres east of the beach, which may cause short-term water contamination lasting up to 2 days following the event. High waves are a documented risk.
