Coudoulière is a pebble beach in Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. The beach is 350 metres long with a south-facing orientation and open configuration. It is used for bathing with medium frequency and is managed by the municipality of Saint-Mandrier. Lifeguards and a rescue post are present during the official surveillance period.

Water Quality

Microbiological water quality classification: Excellent for 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Monitoring is conducted annually from 1 July to 31 August, daily from 10:00 to 19:00. No chemical pollution has been recorded to date. Two microbiological pollution incidents occurred: enterococcal contamination alert on 24 September 2020 following a thunderstorm event (beach closed), and enterococcal contamination alert on 31 August 2020 due to suspected recreational vessel discharges (beach closed). Identified pollution sources include a lifting station and rainwater discharge outlets that may cause microbiological contamination during malfunction or heavy rainfall.

Risks

Microbiological pollution risk from the nearby Coudoulière lifting station due to pump failure or excessive network loading. Microbiological, chemical and macro-debris pollution risks from rainwater discharge outlets during rainfall events, including wastewater overflow, hydrocarbon runoff from transport routes, and dog waste. Dominant winds from the north-east tend to push pollution towards the coast, increasing retention of pollutants in the bathing zone.
