Touring Club Beach is a fine sand beach located in Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. The beach measures 100 metres in length and 10 metres in width with a gentle slope facing west. It has a semi-enclosed configuration with a small watershed area of 0.1 km². The beach is used for swimming and water sports and experiences high visitor numbers during the summer season.

Coastal bathing water with a semi-enclosed configuration. Watershed basin area of 0.1 km². Gentle slope orientation facing west. Exposed to wind patterns where southwest winds push pollution toward shore and northeast winds disperse it toward open water.

Season

Official monitoring period: 1 July to 30 August. Daily surveillance: 10:00 to 19:00.

Water Quality

Microbiological water quality classification: Excellent (2023). Classified Excellent for four consecutive years (2020-2023). Monitoring conducted by ARS regulatory analysis and self-surveillance by service providers. Potential pollution sources identified include sewage pumping stations, the pleasure port, mooring zones, and storm water outlets that can discharge during heavy rainfall events.

Risks

Risk of microbial pollution from sewage treatment system malfunctions during pump failures or heavy rainfall. Port discharge risks from boats including grey water, black water, and hydrocarbons from carriage areas and refuelling zones. Chemical pollution risk from accidental fuel spills. Storm water outlets can discharge pollutants including road hydrocarbons and canine waste during rainfall. Mooring zone discharge of untreated wastewater.
