La Falaise is a bathing beach located on the Île d'Arz in the Golfe du Morbihan. The beach is situated in a coastal area with a Mediterranean climate pattern and is subject to tidal influences. Water quality monitoring has been conducted since 2011, with historical data available through 2014. The beach experiences seasonal variations in water quality and is subject to potential pollution from both point and diffuse sources.

Water

Marine bathing water in the Golfe du Morbihan. The area is subject to tidal currents with variations during spring and neap tides. Wave conditions and seasonal precipitation patterns influence the water body.

Location

The beach is located on the Île d'Arz commune in the Golfe du Morbihan, Brittany region. The nearest reference point is Landevant.

Facilities

The beach is equipped with facilities. Equipment details are referenced in Figure 15 of the vulnerability profile.

Water Quality

Water quality classification and monitoring results are available from 2011 to 2014 through ARS 56. Bacteriological quality of bathing waters has been monitored. The surrounding coastal zone is classified as zone A for non-burrowing bivalves and zone B for burrowing bivalves under shellfish farming regulations. Chlorophyll a concentration monitoring was conducted from 2011 to 2014 by IFREMER.

Risks

Potential pollution sources have been identified, including the Brouel lagoon system, collective sewage network, storm water drainage network, non-collective sanitation systems, and potential accidental pollution sources. Macro-algae and phytoplankton proliferation potential has been assessed. The Tamaris pumping station overflow events (>1 hour) have been recorded from 2012 to 2014.
