Facilities

Water Quality

Bacteriological water quality monitoring has been performed on the bathing water at Pénéra/Keroland. The area has been classified for shellfish farming, with zones designated as Class A for non-burrowing bivalves and Class B for burrowing bivalves along the Île d'Arz coast. Chlorophyll-a concentrations and toxic algal flora have been monitored from 2011 to 2014.

Risks

Potential pollution sources have been identified including collective sewage systems, rainwater drainage networks, non-collective sanitation, and accidental or point-source pollution. A pumping station at Keroland and another at Gréavo manage wastewater. Macro-algae and phytoplankton proliferation potential has been assessed.
