Plage des Charmettes is an 80-meter-long beach in the commune of Six-Fours, composed of small pebbles and enclosed by rock barriers at its north and south ends. The beach is accessible via RD 616 and experiences high visitor numbers. It features a lifeguard station, shower facilities, and proximity to restaurants and a nautical base. The beach has low potential for cyanobacteria, macroalgae, or phytoplankton proliferation due to its enclosed configuration and weak water renewal.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as good in DDASS monitoring between 2002 and 2008, with the exception of 2003 when it was classified as average. Vulnerability index is low, rising to medium under unfavorable wind conditions. One bacteriological analysis per week is conducted at the DDASS sampling point during the summer season.

Risks

Port du Brusc discharge poses medium risk of contaminated water, increasing with rainfall. Three storm water collectors pose low risk during dry conditions with increased risk during rainfall. Pumping station malfunction risk is low but increases during rainfall. Potential for visible pollution from the port including flotsam, foam, and grease.
