Plage de la Coudoulière is a 400-meter-long semi-enclosed to enclosed bathing beach located in the commune of Six-Fours. The beach is characterized by relatively low water renewal, particularly at its northern end near the port. Water quality assessments conducted between 2001 and 2008 consistently classified the bathing waters as good quality. The beach experiences high visitor frequency and benefits from a rescue post and restaurant facilities.

Water

Semi-enclosed to enclosed marine beach. Length: 400 meters. Orientation: west. Watershed area: 0.8 km². Water renewal is relatively low, notably at the northern extremity near the port.

Location

Commune of Six-Fours, accessible via RD 616. The beach is delimited to the north by the Port de la Coudoulière and to the south by the Carabinier point. Parking is available nearby.

Facilities

Rescue post (poste de secours), restaurant, shower (connected to wastewater network).

Season

Summer season 2009. Active management programme: 15 June to 15 September.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: good quality (based on DDASS sampling conducted between 2001 and 2008). Vulnerability index: medium. Potential pollution sources include the Port de la Coudoulière (medium risk of contaminated water discharge by dry weather), the Rayolet canal (low risk of possible wastewater discharge), and rainwater collectors (low risk of bacteriological pollution from street runoff). Risk increases during rainfall events.

Risks

Low to medium risk of cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation due to semi-enclosed configuration and low water renewal. Potential bacteriological pollution from port activities and runoff during rainfall events. Potential contaminated water discharge from the port with medium risk during dry weather.
