Plage du Rayolet is a 400-meter sandy beach in the commune of Six-Fours, located in a closed bay with weak water renewal. The beach is bounded by the pointe de la Vieille Batterie to the north and the pointe du Rayolet to the south. It experiences low visitor frequency and is surrounded by a private residential development. A rescue post and shower facility are present on the beach.

Location

Commune of Six-Fours, accessible via RD 616 in the direction of Brusc. Parking available nearby.

Summer season: 15 June to 15 September.

Water Quality

DDASS samples collected between 2001 and 2008 consistently classified bathing waters as good quality. Vulnerability index assessed as medium under normal conditions, rising to high during unfavorable winds. Low risk of cyanobacteria, macroalgae, or phytoplankton proliferation with no history of algal bloom. Nitrogen and phosphorus inputs not confirmed.

Risks

Potential bacterial pollution from stormwater runoff through the Le Rayolet rain canal and storm drain collectors, particularly during rainfall events. Risk of wastewater discharge via storm drains during pump station malfunction. Unfavorable winds can increase vulnerability index to high. Pollution expected to be short-term, not affecting water quality beyond 72 hours.
