Lido La Noce

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Lido La Noce is a sandy and pebbly beach with free access located on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore near Angera. The beach is approximately 20 metres wide and is adjacent to a grassy area. The surrounding zone includes a bar, restaurants, a drinking fountain, and a cycle-pedestrian path along the lake shore.

Water

Lake Maggiore. The bathing area extends 0.266 km² at an altitude of 198 metres above sea level. The hydrographic basin is the Ticino River.

Location

Angera, Varese province, Lombardy region, Italy. The beach is situated a few metres from the town centre on the eastern southern shore of Lake Maggiore. Contact: Municipality of Angera (0331930168).

Facilities

Bar, restaurants, drinking fountain, cycle-pedestrian path along the lake. Dogs are permitted in one section of the beach and may enter the water.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (reference period 2019–2022). Monitoring includes detection of pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli, intestinal Enterococci, and cyanobacteria via the Pallanza buoy (CNR and ARPA). No threshold exceedances for cyanobacterial proliferation were recorded in the previous four years. No toxic effects on swimmers or the aquatic environment were recorded.

Risks

Possible short-term pollution events from unfavourable meteorological conditions such as heavy storms, land runoff, water stagnation, and various spillages. Potential accidental or unauthorised discharges of wastewater or contaminating debris. No anomalous events were recorded.
