Lake Maggiore (Lago Maggiore). The bathing area is located at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level. The water body is part of the Ticino River basin.

Luino, Varese Province, Lombardia, Italy. The beach is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore at a short distance from Luino city center. Parking is available at the site.

Facilities

Parking, refreshment facility with shower, drinking water fountain. Lifeguards and toilet facilities are not mentioned. No animal access permitted. Floating pontoon for small boats is available in the area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (reference period 2019-2022). Monitoring is conducted by CNR and ARPA via the Pallanza buoy, which tracks pathogenic bacteria including Escherichia coli, intestinal Enterococci, and cyanobacteria. The sewer system serving Luino (agglomeration AG01209201) is managed by a treatment plant in Luino-Voldomino that meets regulatory discharge limits. No threshold exceedances have been recorded in the past three years.

Possible algal blooms may occur seasonally, though no anomalous events have been recorded. Potential short-duration pollution events may result from unfavorable weather conditions, soil runoff, water stagnation, or accidental/unauthorized discharges of liquids or debris.
