Camping Nosetto is a pebble beach in a sloping formation located within a recreational facility on Lake Maggiore in Cannobio, Piedmont. The beach spans 86 metres and is surrounded by naturally planted local vegetation. The bathing water has been classified as excellent based on routine monitoring data from 2020 to 2023.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Based on 18 routine samples from 2020–2023. Escherichia coli 90th percentile: 33.2 MPN/100 ml, 95th percentile: 57.8 MPN/100 ml. Enterococci 90th percentile: 52.0 MPN/100 ml, 95th percentile: 86.7 MPN/100 ml. The bathing area falls within the Maggiore 3 homogeneous zone with medium-low pressure class. Untreated civil discharges from upstream areas could potentially affect water quality. No agricultural or industrial pressures are present.

Risks

Intense precipitation can trigger overflow devices and accidental malfunctions of lifting systems, resulting in untreated sewage discharge into the lake. A stream from the settlement of Carmine Superiore enters approximately 55 metres north of the sampling point. Possible fuel loss from watercraft. No cyanobacterial proliferation potential identified. No macroalgal or phytoplankton proliferation has been detected. No anomalous events have been recorded.
