Lille Ibjerg Sø

Denmark Lake 1 - Excellent

Lille Ibjerg Sø is a bathing lake located in a gravel pit area approximately 14 km from Odense city centre. The beach area extends along a gravel path with approximately 50 metres of sand and grass. The beach is demarcated with natural stone and has a gradual slope toward the water. Water depth reaches approximately 1.5 metres at the transition from the designated bathing area into the lake proper.

Water

Lake located in a gravel pit area. Beach width extends to approximately 30 metres at its broadest point. Water depth approximately 1.5 metres at the designated bathing area boundary. Shallow sandy-bottomed water near the boundary stones with gradual depth increase toward the centre of the lake. No significant current has been recorded according to previous analysis reports.

Location

Located approximately 14 km by road from Odense city centre, west-facing. Accessible via Ibjergvej leading to a gravel path in the gravel pit area. A small car park is situated near the beach off Ibjergvej via Labirksgyden road, which connects to Ørbækvej (route 301). The lake lies approximately 150 metres from the car park via gravel path; vehicle access to the bathing site is not permitted.

Water Quality

Classification: Unknown – New bathing site. Water quality assessment based on microbiological bathing water data from the four most recent bathing seasons. Risk of pollution assessed as very low.

Risks

Low risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae); no blooms, surface layers, or foam observed within the past five years at the nearby former bathing site Ane's Lagune with comparable conditions. No significant seaweed occurrences recorded. Glass fragments, oil pollution, and litter may occasionally occur.
