Strandskovvej S is a bathing beach located approximately 8 km north of Nyborg, facing north-northeast directly towards Storebælt. The beach is predominantly stony with sandy sections in only a few places, and stretches about 1.5 km. The beach is narrow, approximately 10 m wide, and is protected by dikes vegetated with marram grass and wild roses. Water depths exceed 2 m after approximately 200 m from the shore. The beach is classified as excellent based on microbiological data from bathing seasons 2008–2011.

Water

Storebælt, a strait between Funen and Zealand. Water depths exceed 2 m after approximately 200 m from shore. Fine and firm sand bottom. Salinity measured at 16 ‰ on 15 July 2010. Water currents are primarily north or south-going, influenced by tidal conditions and wind patterns.

Located approximately 8 km north of Nyborg in Denmark. Public access is available over the dike from Strandskovvej. Parking information is not specified.

Facilities

Private bathing docks are established at several locations along the coast. Lifeguards, toilets, showers, and disabled access are not mentioned.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent. Based on microbiological data from bathing seasons 2008–2011. No indications that bathing water is affected by disease-causing bacteria from wastewater discharges. Risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) is low, with no blooms observed in the past 5 years. Risk of phytoplankton is low, with no major occurrences observed in the past 5 years. Small amounts of macroalgae (seaweed) occur annually.

Potential risk of faecal contamination from accidents or ruptures of manure storage tanks at large-scale agricultural operations in the catchment area. Potential risk of faecal contamination from wild animals under special weather conditions with currents and wind from north or south. Small amounts of macroalgae occur annually. Under heavy rainfall, bird excrement from nearby wetland and marsh areas may be transported via streams to Storebælt.
