Lingesetalsperre is a reservoir with an area of 39 hectares and a catchment area smaller than 10 square kilometres. The water body has a maximum depth of 18.8 metres, a water level fluctuation of 3.1 metres, and a water exchange time of more than 30 days. Water transparency measures 3.3 metres. The substrate is rocky with naturally structured banks.

The bathing water is located at Lingesetalsperre/Campingplatz in the Oberbergischer Kreis district. The Oberbergischer Kreis administrative office is located at Am Wiedenhof 1-3, 51643 Gummersbach. The nearest operator facility is Wupperverband at Untere Lichtenplatzer Straße 100, 42289 Wuppertal.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent (2019–2020), good (2021–2022). Measured water parameters include temperature range 15.3–22.5 °C (mean 19.76 °C), pH range 7.5–9.1 (mean 8.1), and conductivity range 157–169 µS/cm (mean 164). The water body is mesotrophic with natural nutrient content. No relevant pollution sources have been identified that negatively affect water quality.

Risks

Medium risk of future cyanobacterial mass development identified. Low risk of macroalgae and low risk of phytoplankton mass development. No cyanobacterial water blooms were observed in the four years preceding the profile. No cercariae (duck flea causing swimmer's itch) detected. No sediment contamination (microbiological, chemical, construction debris, or equipment-related) is known.
