The bathing area is located in Gummersbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, administered by Oberbergischer Kreis. The bathing beach or shoreline section measures 308 metres in length.

Water quality was rated excellent in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. The water body is mesotrophic with moderate nutrient content. No relevant pollution sources have been identified that negatively affect water quality. No microbial, chemical, or other contamination has been detected in sediments. No waterblooms from cyanobacteria were observed in the past four years. The risk of future cyanobacterial mass development is assessed as medium. Macroalgae are assessed as low risk, and the risk of future phytoplankton mass development is medium.
