Løgismose Skov

Løgismose Skov is a south-facing beach located in Helnæs Bay, approximately 1500 meters south of Nellemose. The beach is approximately 175 meters long and 5 meters wide, with a sandy seabed and shallow bathing area. Two bathing piers are installed during the bathing season. The beach is surrounded by a large grass area used as a recreational zone, with agricultural land and forest in the hinterland.

Water

Located in Helnæs Bay in the western Baltic Sea. The bathing area is shallow with a sandy seabed. Water composition is influenced by both low-salinity Baltic Sea water and higher-salinity water from the Little Belt. Helnæs Bay is a relatively enclosed area with no dominant current direction and generally low current speeds.

Location

Located in Helnæs Bay, approximately 1500 meters south of Nellemose. Parking is available approximately 250 meters from the beach. A 0.75 square kilometer municipal recreational area with grass, toilets, and privacy zones lies between the parking area and the beach.

Season

June 1 to September 1. Minimum 10 water samples are collected throughout the bathing season for quality control.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as 'Excellent' based on bathing water data from the previous 4 years. Monitoring is conducted from June 1 to September 1, with a minimum of 10 water samples collected throughout the bathing season. Results are published on the beach's website. No fecal pollution is expected as there are no watercourse discharges or other outfalls near the beach. Minor fecal contamination could originate from bathing animals, humans, or bird colonies, or from diffuse surface water runoff following heavy rainfall.

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria blooms is low, as the beach is located in an enclosed fjord area. Blooms typically occur following rainfall with nutrient runoff followed by warm periods, driven by water from the Baltic Sea. Risk of other phytoplankton blooms is very low with no previous observations. Risk of major seaweed accumulation is low. No chemical pollution sources identified. No knowledge of old landfills or polluting enterprises with discharge permits in the area.
