Faldsled syd for havn is a bathing beach located approximately 300 meters south of the boat harbor in Faldsled, facing west toward Helnæs Bay. The beach is 250–300 meters long and consists of fine sand, with a width of approximately 8 meters at its widest point and a gentle slope toward the water. A public bathing pier is typically installed from June to September. The water depth increases gradually, reaching approximately 1.5 meters after about 100 meters from the shore.

Water

Marine water body in Helnæs Bay, which borders Lillebælt to the west. Water depth increases gradually, reaching approximately 1.5 meters after 100 meters from shore. The seabed consists of fine sand further out from shore, though closer to land it appears softer and is covered with seaweed.

Location

The beach is located approximately 300 meters south of Faldsled boat harbor. Access is via Lykkevej, a side road off Assensvej. Parking and grass areas with tables and benches are available behind the beach, with a walking trail (Øhavsstien) running along the shore.

Public bathing pier (installed June–September), grass area with tables and benches, walking trail along the shore, football pitch further inland.

Season

June to September (bathing pier installation period). Year-round monitoring occurs.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified based on microbiological data from the past four bathing seasons. Based on the latest two years of analysis results, the risk of poor bathing water is low. The municipality conducts ongoing monitoring in the primary bathing area; results are published on the website when received.

Risks

Risk of poor water quality after heavy rainfall exceeding 5 mm per hour due to combined sewer system overflow. Larger accumulations of seaweed and plankton have been observed during the bathing season. Occasional glass shards, oil contamination, and debris may occur. Seaweed can prolong the survival of fecal bacteria in water. Occasional foam has been observed, but the risk of harmful cyanobacteria blooms is assessed as low.
