Loulé Velho is a coastal bathing water located on a beach with restricted use associated with sensitive natural systems. The beach features golden sand and dunes, stretching 410 metres in length. It is situated southeast of a lagoon formed at the mouth of Almargem brook, where waterfowl can be observed. The tidal range is 3.4 metres with mean wave height of 0.5 metres, and the predominant wind direction is east to southeast.
