Masse

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Masse is a bathing area on Lake Garda located in the municipality of Brenzone in the Veneto region. The beach is oriented westward and is situated at the base of the embankment supporting the SS249 road and a municipal wastewater collection system. The beach width ranges from 5 to 10 meters. The bathing water has been classified as excellent for the years 2021–2024.

Location

Brenzone municipality, Veneto region, Verona province. The beach is located in the northern exit area from the town center of Castelletto di Brenzone in the Masse locality.

Water Quality

Excellent classification (2021–2024). EI95° 2.96; EI90° 2.437; EC95° 8.739; EC90° 6.196. Monitored by ARPAV (oaa@arpa.veneto.it).

Risks

Potential pollution sources include mixed municipal wastewater with emergency overflow systems, a municipal wastewater collector, stormwater discharge pipes, the Peschiera del Garda treatment plant discharging into the Mincio River, and inflows from Madonna dell'Aiuto, Valle di Senaga, and Valle di Fies rivers or streams. No cyanobacterial blooms exceeding 20,000 cells/ml were recorded during 2021–2024.
