Moitas is a small and rocky beach located on the Costa do Estoril promenade. The beach is subject to direct influence from nearby urban centers. It is situated in Cascais municipality and monitored weekly during the official bathing season.

May 1 to October 15, 2024. Weekly sampling frequency.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2023 under Decreto-Lei 135/09. No days of bathing advice against or prohibition due to short-term pollution events occurred in bathing season 2023.

Risks

Short-term pollution risk is low but may occur due to excessive rainfall drainage discharge lasting 1–2 days. Potential microbiological pollution sources include surface water drainage network and sewerage network failure at Monte Estoril pump station. Cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation are unlikely.
