Naturbad Kleines Meer (Hieve) is a natural shallow moorland lake located in northwestern Lower Saxony in East Frisia, approximately 9 km northeast of Emden in the municipality of Südbrookmerland. The lake was formed in the Sietland, a narrow zone of lower-lying areas between marshland and geest. It is connected via canals and waterways to the larger Großes Meer to the northeast and Loppersumer Meer to the north, forming a unified water system. During the 1970s, the lake was excavated for sand extraction for motorway construction and has since reached depths exceeding 20 meters in some areas.
