The Ihler Meer is a recreational lake with an area of 3.5 hectares located south of Aurich on the Geest ridge in the Ihlow settlement area. The lake was completed in 1990 and is filled with groundwater. The substrate is predominantly clayey, with a maximum depth of approximately 5 metres. Visibility depth exceeds 1 metre. The water is nutrient-rich with a weakly alkaline pH, and ion content has decreased over time due to increasing rainwater influence.
