Obersee near Lanke is a natural glacial lake located approximately 20 km northeast of Berlin in the Wandlitz-Prendener Lake District within Barnim Nature Park. Formed at the end of the last ice age, the lake has a surface area of 12 hectares and a maximum depth of 9 metres. The lake features forested shores that drop steeply, limiting reed development. Summer water transparency ranges between 2 and 4 metres at the bathing site, with underwater vegetation present to approximately 6 metres depth. The lake is managed by a professional fisherman and is classified as a tench, bass, and pike lake.
