Offentlig strand Dokkedalvej is a public beach in Øster Hurup stretching approximately 1500 metres. The beach is a sandy strand with some shell deposits and varies in width from 10 to 25 metres. The seabed consists of soft sand and mud with very shallow water throughout, characteristic of tidal flats. Water quality is classified as excellent.

Kattegat strait. Sandy seabed with mud. Approximately 1 metre depth at 600 metres offshore. Very shallow water throughout, with tidal flat characteristics. Salinity: saltwater. Water temperature varies between approximately 11°C and 22°C during the bathing season.

Facilities

Lifeguard posts, disabled toilet, disabled access to viewpoint tower at Lille Vildmose, tables and benches at parking area and toilet building, waste bins, toilet building.

Water quality classification: Excellent. Current patterns in Kattegat are primarily determined by weather conditions, atmospheric pressure, tides, and water flows from the Baltic Sea (brackish water northward) and North Sea (saltier water southward). Local current directions are mainly influenced by wind conditions and tides.
