River (Orb). The study zone covers 204 km² with a linear distance of 14.1 km on the Orb. Low water flow rate (mean minimum discharge July-August): 6.1 m³/s. Summer flood flow rate: 19 m³/s.

Location

Cessenon-sur-Orb, France. The bathing area is located on the Orb river downstream of where it flows through a narrow valley with gorges.

Water Quality

Type 1 profile: water quality is classified as sufficient, good, or excellent according to Directive 2006/7/CE. Bacteriological quality analysis was conducted. The bathing area was of good quality in 2010.

Risks

Potential risks from pollution sources in the study zone exist, including short-term pollution risks. Risk assessment for proliferation of cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton was conducted.
