Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008–2011). No coastal wastewater treatment plants, marine outfalls, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years.
