Pramousquier Est is a sandy beach located in Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer on the Mediterranean coast of France. The beach features rocky outcrops with photophile algae at its extremities and is protected by Posidonia seagrass meadows 270 metres offshore, indicating good marine environmental quality. The beach experiences regular wave action due to its abrupt bathymetric profile and is exposed to easterly and north-westerly winds including the Mistral. Summer water temperatures average 22°C with maximum temperatures reaching 26°C.

Location

Pramousquier Est is located in Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer on the Mediterranean coast of France. The beach is situated at a small cove in this municipality.

Water Quality

Type 1 profile indicating no proven risk of bathing water pollution. Water quality classified as sufficient, good, or excellent under Directive 2006/7/CE based on the four preceding bathing seasons. Historical classification: Class A (good quality) from 2006 to 2009.

Risks

Phytoplankton proliferation risk exists with low probability given exposure to dominant winds and wave action. Potential sources of pollution include stormwater runoff via Pramousquier stream, recreational boating activities, septic network integrity issues near the beach, and road runoff from RD559 containing hydrocarbons and heavy metals. Two pumping stations located 30 metres and 230 metres from the sea discharge volumes between 40–600 cubic metres daily.
