Cala Capitán is a sandy beach located in Orihuela, Alicante, in the Valencian Community. The beach has an open cove configuration without defensive structures and features a promenade along its northern zone. It is bounded to the north by Cala Bosque beach and to the south by La Caleta beach. The beach has a high to medium density of bathers during the bathing season.

Water Quality

Water quality classification rated as Excellent in recent monitoring seasons (2020–2023). The water body is classified as Good status under the Water Framework Directive. Weekly inspections during bathing season assess water analysis, water appearance, and sand cleanliness on a scale of Excellent, Good, Sufficient, and Insufficient. No direct discharges to the coastline affect water quality. Sewage treatment by EDAR Orihuela-Costa serving 41,986 persons with secondary treatment plus chlorination and 97% SS, 98% DBO5, and 92% DQO removal efficiency.
