Cala Mosca is a closed cove beach located in Orihuela, Alicante, in the Valencian Community of Spain. The beach features a natural sand composition with a rigid maritime promenade and is bounded by Punta Prima beach to the north and Cala Estaca beach to the south. The beach has a micromareal tidal range and currents flowing from south to north. It is situated in an urban zone without natural geographic barriers such as ravines or streams that would affect water quality during heavy rainfall.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent according to monitoring data. The beach is managed under Royal Decree 1341/2007 implementing the Bathing Water Directive 2006/7/CE. Weekly inspections during the bathing season assess visual parameters and overall beach conditions. No direct sewage discharges affect the beach, and no environmental control monitoring point has been established due to the absence of direct coastal discharges or urban sewage connections.
