Centro is a beach located in Guardamar del Segura, Alicante, in the Valencian Community. It is an open longitudinal configuration beach with a high-quality sandy composition and artificial sand formation. The beach stretches 470.1 metres along the high tide line with an average width of 41 metres. It features a rigid seafront promenade and has northern and southern geographical boundaries with the beaches of els Vivers and La Roqueta respectively.

Marine water body in the Segura Hydrographic Demarcation. Coastal water type (CW). Micromareal tidal range. Low-lying accumulation coastline. Current direction south to north. Water renewal is adequate for a marine coastal area.

Location

Guardamar del Segura, Alicante province, Valencian Community, Spain. Parking is available. Disabled access is provided. Located at coordinates 706395, 4218020 (UTM ETRS89 zone 30).

Water Quality

Water quality has been classified as excellent based on monitoring results from 2020 to 2023. The bathing zone is classified under the good quality category according to the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/CE). No direct pollution discharges affect the beach. Urban sewerage connections do not pose a contamination risk.

Risks

Potential contamination factors identified at low frequency with mild impact: rainfall, urban sewerage, and coastal discharges. Cyanobacteria are not detected in this coastal water. Phytoplankton proliferation may occur but is not a documented problem. Jellyfish proliferation is possible but not documented as a recurring issue.
