Mar Rabiosa is a bathing beach located on the Mediterranean coast of Almería, Spain. The beach is 145 meters long with an average width of 20 meters and features golden sand composition. It experiences calm bathing conditions and is classified as a natural Mediterranean coastal water body with deep sandy substrates. The beach has a high level of occupancy and is classified as an urban beach.

Natural Mediterranean coastal waters, deep with sandy substrates including gravel and rocks. Micromareal range of 0–2 meters. Currents are dominant towards the east, east-southeast, and east-northeast. Exposure to waves is moderate, with dominant wave regime from the east and east-northeast associated with levante winds.

Location

Pulpí, Almería province, Andalusia. The beach is easily accessible on foot or by car. A sports port is located at Águilas, approximately 10 kilometers away.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for the 2013–2016 period: Excellent for all seasons (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016). Low-risk short-duration microbiological contamination. The main point source is the S. Juan de Terreros sewage treatment plant (AL600), discharging 165,265 cubic meters annually of treated urban wastewater. Diffuse sources include land use patterns, built-up surfaces, and altered surfaces in the influence zone.
