Playa Nares is a natural sandy beach located in Puerto de Mazarrón along the Mediterranean coast. The beach extends 400 metres in length with an average width of 40 metres and features golden sand. It is an urban beach with high occupancy and a promenade, designated as suitable for bathing. The beach has received Blue Flag status recognition.

Water Quality

Water quality was rated as excellent from 2000–2009 except for 2008 when it was rated as good. Quality was rated as excellent in 2010 and 2011. The beach is located in the coastal water mass 'Punta de La Azohía-Puntas de Calnegre' which has good ecological status.

Risks

No significant pollution sources identified. No potentially toxic phytoplankton cells were detected in any monitoring campaigns. Jellyfish appear seasonally with maximum abundance from early spring to late summer; short-duration episodes are unlikely.
