Pedregalejos-Acacias is a 1005-metre urban beach in Málaga, Andalucía, located on the Mediterranean coast. The beach features a dark sandy composition with an average width of 20 metres and moderately exposed conditions. It experiences moderate wave action and is classified as a natural Mediterranean coastal water body influenced by Atlantic waters.

Water

Mediterranean coastal water body with shallow waters. Substrate consists of silts and sand. Tidal range is microtidal (0–2 metres). Current regime is dominant towards the northeast. Wave regime is dominant from the east and east-southeast associated with Levante wind.

Location

Málaga municipality, Andalucía, Spain. The beach is accessible on foot and by car, with a promenade and footbridges present. The nearby port is Puerto de Málaga and Rincón de la Victoria.

Red Cross post, rescue equipment, lifeguards, signalling, disabled access, showers, waste bins, cleaning service, nautical rental, signage for dangers.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2013–2016). Short-term contamination risk is low and microbiological in nature (24-hour duration). Diffuse pollution sources include land uses in the influence zone and altered built surfaces. Proliferation risks are low for jellyfish, phytoplankton, and macroalgae.

Risks

Short-term microbiological contamination risk (low grade). Pollution sources include runoff from Arroyo de los Pilones and Arroyo de los Jaboneros.
