La Sirena Loca is a 700-metre-long urban beach in Adra, Almería, located on the Mediterranean coast. The beach has a mean width of 70 metres with dark sand and gravel composition. It experiences moderate swell and windy conditions, with deep waters and microhabitats dominated by easterly currents.

Water

Mediterranean coastal water body influenced by Atlantic waters. Deep bathymetry with mud and sand substrate. Microtidal range of 0–2 metres. Wave regime dominated by easterly and north-easterly winds. Current regime predominantly directed east, east-southeast, and east-northeast.

Location

Adra, Almería, Andalucía, Spain. Access is available on foot or by car. Parking is available at the marina in Adra. Disabled access is provided.

Facilities

Red Cross post, lifeguards, rescue equipment, surveillance equipment, toilets, showers, waste bins, cleaning service, signage, boardwalk, walkways, nautical club, sports marina. No water sports equipment rental or submarine diving zone.

Water Quality

Classified as Excellent for bathing water quality in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Short-duration microbiological contamination risk is low. Diffuse pollution sources include land use in the influence zone, agricultural surfaces, and built-up areas. Point source: Adra wastewater treatment plant (EDAR ADRA, AL100). Medusae, phytoplankton, and macroalgae proliferation risks are all low.
