Spiaggia Sabbioni

Italy Lake 1 - Excellent

Spiaggia Sabbioni is a rocky and grassy beach located on Lake Garda near Riva del Garda in Trentino Alto Adige. The beach has a width of 18 metres and features a negligible slope with consistent transition between the shoreline and submerged zones. The bathing area is delimited by buoys and floats to prevent conflicting water sports activities.

Water

Lake Garda (Lago di Garda). The bathing area extends 0.34 km. Altitude 65 metres above sea level. The Galanzana stream flows through the eastern part of the beach.

Location

Riva del Garda, Trento province, Trentino Alto Adige. The beach is situated between Spiaggia Miralago and the beach in front of Hotel Du Lac et Du Parc, with the former Colonia Sabbioni and Campo Sportivo Benacense marking the northern boundary.

Facilities

Refreshment point with sanitary facilities including disabled access and showers. Sports and recreational structures. First aid and lifeguard service with qualified lifesaver during summer months. Animal access regulated by municipal ordinance.

Water Quality

Classified as EXCELLENT for the years 2016–2019. Nitrate concentrations are well below vulnerability thresholds. Average total phosphorus concentration in 2014–2018 was 16 µg/l. No isolated pollution sources identified. The Riva Arena wastewater treatment plant discharges treated effluent into the Galanzana stream with final filtration and chemical phosphorus removal treatment.
