Port Blanc is the smallest municipal bathing beach in Plœmeur, located in the southern part of the commune in Brittany. The beach features a sheltered cove that serves as an old fishing village port, with an intertidal zone less than 100 metres long. Although exposed to westerly swells, the beach benefits from protection within the Anse de Port Blanc. The surrounding coastline is predominantly rocky granite with small sandy coves.

Location

Southern part of Plœmeur commune, Morbihan department, Brittany region, France. Located near the former fishing village of Kerroch. Positioned between the Laïta estuary (border with Finistère) and Lorient roadstead, within the Lorient country agglomeration community.

Season

2011 bathing season onwards, with monitoring required from summer 2011 under European Directive CE 2006/7.

Water Quality

Classified as Type 1 bathing profile, indicating that the risk of bathing water pollution is not established. The beach has a history of bacteriological monitoring. Eight declared bathing sites exist in Plœmeur commune, all classified as Type 1.

Potential risk of phytoplankton development. Potential risk of macro-algae development. Potential pollution from watershed runoff during summer storms. Potential impact from mooring activities in Anse de Port Blanc.
