Monsaraz Fluvial Beach is a river bathing site located on the Guadiana River in the Reguengos de Monsaraz municipality. The beach has a sandy front extending 120 metres. During the bathing season, the site experiences average rainfall of 7.9 mm, average air temperature of 23.6°C, prevailing northwest winds, and approximately 10 hours of daily sunshine.

Water quality classification for 2024 complies with Decreto-Lei 135/09. The bathing water is not subject to negative influences affecting its microbiological quality and no pollution episodes are expected. No days of bathing advisories or prohibitions due to short-term pollution occurred during the 2024 bathing season. Short-term pollution risk is unlikely or low.

Risks

Cyanobacteria have likely potential for proliferation. Phytoplankton has likely potential for proliferation. A visual inspection and laboratory chlorophyll-a monitoring alert system is in place with communication to the Alentejo Regional Health Delegate.
