Plage des Dunes is a sandy beach located on the eastern coast of the Cotentin peninsula in Ravenoville, Manche department in Basse-Normandie. The beach extends from Ravenoville-Plage in the north to Grand Hameau des Dunes in the south and features a gentle slope. The beach is cleaned fortnightly to weekly from March to September and is managed by the Community of Communes of Sainte-Mère-Eglise.

Sandy beach on the eastern Cotentin coast with a gentle slope and sandy foreshore.

Location

Ravenoville, Manche department (50), Basse-Normandie region. The beach extends between Ravenoville-Plage and Grand Hameau des Dunes. Parking available with approximately 15–20 delimited spaces.

Facilities

Two toilets, three urinals, one shower (connected to public sewerage network). No lifeguard station.

Water Quality

Water quality monitoring was conducted according to European Directive 2006/7/CE. The profile includes historical monitoring data on faecal indicator germs, classifications under Directive 76/160/CEE, and simulations of classifications under Directive 2006/7/CE.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include coastal discharges, domestic wastewater from collective and non-collective sewerage systems, rainwater runoff, agricultural activities, artisanal and industrial activities, ports and moorage zones, camping and mobile home areas, and algal accumulation on the beach.
