Rio Batorezza is a coastal bathing area in the municipality of Borgio Verezzi, Liguria, in northeastern Italy. The beach is predominantly sandy with the presence of piers. The bathing water body is classified as coastal waters with mountain catchment and low stability. The area is located at the mouth of the Rio Batorezza river in a flat plain zone.

Location

Borgio Verezzi, province of Savona, Liguria region, Italy. The competent authority is located at Guardia Costiera Lungomare Matteotti n. 4/b, 17100.

Facilities

Private sea baths with related services and other reception facilities are present in the area. Animals are permitted in the bathing area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). Identified pollution sources include treatment plants at Pietra Ligure and Finale Ligure with active sea outfalls, as well as river mouths. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded.
