Location

San Mauro Cilento, province of Salerno, Campania region. The municipality office is located at Via Roma, 56, CAP 84070, San Mauro Cilento.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (based on D.Lgs. 30.05.08 n. 116) for the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Urban wastewater from San Mauro Cilento is directed via sewage pipeline to the municipal treatment plant in Pollica, a biological treatment facility with activated sludge, located in the Acciaroli area with submarine outfall.

Risks

Possible pollution sources identified include a lift pump and emergency overflow located west of Acciaroli port in Pollica municipality; potential ruptures of submarine pipelines serving municipal treatment plants in Montecorice at Agnone and Capoluogo localities.
