Punta del Capitello is a bathing area on the coast of Montecorice characterized by a rocky and pebbly shoreline. The zone is predominantly urbanized to the north and has semi-natural environments to the south. The beach and surrounding area are rocky and pebbly in nature.

Location

Montecorice, Province of Salerno, Campania region, Italy. The municipality is located at Via Duca degli Abruzzi, 15, CAP 84060 Montecorice (Sa).

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (based on monitoring years 2020–2023 under Legislative Decree 116/2008). Identified pollution sources include three biological treatment plants with activated sludge systems (at Case del Conte, Agnone, and Capoluogo) and the Lavis stream on the western side. Potential ruptures of submarine discharge pipes from the Agnone and Capoluogo treatment plants have been identified as possible pollution causes.
