Agnone is a bathing water located in the municipality of Montecorice in the province of Salerno, Campania. The beach is characterized by a rocky to pebbly coastline with breakwater scogliere protecting the beach. The area is predominantly urbanized. The bathing water has been classified as Excellent according to Legislative Decree 116/2008 for the years 2020–2023.

Location

Montecorice, province of Salerno, Campania. The municipality is located at Via Duca degli Abruzzi, 15, CAP 84060.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2021–2022–2023 monitoring years, according to D.Lgs. 30.05.08 n. 116). Three biological wastewater treatment plants with activated sludge systems serve the area: one discharging into Rio Arena (Case del Conte locality), and two discharging via submarine pipelines (Agnone fraction and Capoluogo locality).

Risks

Possible pollution sources identified: Rio Lavis (40.2145°N, 14.9953°E) and potential breaks in submarine pipelines (40.215190°N, 14.996000°E) connected to the wastewater treatment plants at Agnone fraction and Capoluogo locality.
