Location

Montecorice, Province of Salerno, Campania Region. The monitoring point is situated along a coastline with rocky and pebbly characteristics, near a port area.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent (2020–2023). Three biological wastewater treatment plants with activated sludge discharge into Rio Arena and via submarine pipelines.

Risks

Possible pollution sources identified: proximity to a surface watercourse at the sampling point, eastern side near the roots of the overflow pier of Porto S. Nicola, and potential ruptures of submarine pipelines from treatment plants at Agnone and Capoluogo.
