Sotto Villa Bianchelli is a bathing beach in Sirolo, Marche region, featuring a pebble beach of calcareous origin with a gentle slope of 3% on the emerged beach and 10% on the submerged beach. The beach has sections with steeper terrain composed of calcareous rocks protected by natural submerged rock barriers. The distance between medium-low and high water levels is 2 meters, with astronomical tides of 30–50 centimeters. The surrounding area consists of urban settlements, tourist facilities, and Mediterranean scrubland.

Coastal water body between the Esino and Musone rivers. Beach composed of calcareous pebbles with emerged slope of 3% and submerged slope of 10%. Protected by natural submerged rock barriers. Distance between medium-low and high water levels is 2 meters. Astronomical tide range is 30–50 centimeters.

Sirolo, province of Ancona, Marche region. Beach length 550 meters, width 30 meters. Private beach with bar, restaurants, restrooms, and bathing establishments. Animals are not permitted.

Water Quality

Classification E (as of 2012 review). Wastewater treatment provided by a biological active sludge plant located in Castelfidardo with capacity for 62,000 equivalent inhabitants. Monthly ARPAM controls of the treatment plant during 2010 showed all results compliant with authorized limits. Escherichia coli measurements from 2010: January 110 UFC/100ml, February 26 UFC/100ml, March 80 UFC/100ml, April below detection limit, May below detection limit, July 90 UFC/100ml, August 70 UFC/100ml, September 100 UFC/100ml, October 65 UFC/100ml, November below detection limit, December 10 UFC/100ml.

Risks

During intense rainfall events, wastewater discharge volumes increase significantly in the sewer network, and when overflow thresholds are exceeded, wastewater bypasses the treatment plant and discharges directly to the beach area or to the Musone river and its tributaries.
