Camping is a bathing beach in Sirolo, Marche region, with limestone gravel and a medium slope of 3% on the emerged beach and 10% on the submerged beach. The beach features steep sections composed of limestone blocks protected by natural submerged rocky barriers. The surrounding area consists of urban settlements, tourist facilities, and Mediterranean scrubland.

Marine bathing water (Ancona_Numana water body). Area 0.46769 (units not specified). Limestone gravel beach with limestone block formations.

Location

Sirolo, Province of Ancona, Marche region. Beach length 650 m, width 40 m. Distance between average low and high water (safe water limit) is 2 m. Astronomical tide range 30–50 cm.

Facilities

Bar, restaurants, toilets, camping, beach establishments. Animals not permitted.

Water Quality

Classification E. Wastewater treatment via mixed-type sewage network serving municipalities of Osimo, Castelfidardo, Numana, and Sirolo. Treatment plant located in Castelfidardo with capacity of 62,000 equivalent inhabitants. Monthly monitoring in 2010 by ARPAM showed Escherichia coli levels ranging from below detection limit to 110 CFU/100 ml, all compliant with authorized limits.

Risks

During intense rainfall events, overflow from the sewage network discharges occur at multiple points along the beach in Numana and along the Musone River and its tributaries. No algal blooms recorded in 2007–2010.
