Sottomarina is a bathing area located on the Sottomarina peninsula, which separates the Venice Lagoon from the Adriatic Sea to the south. The beach extends for approximately 5 km along a north-south orientation. The specific bathing water profile covers an area 3-8 km south of Chioggia port entrance and 1-2 km north of the Brenta River mouth. The beach width ranges between 100 and 200 metres.
